Ruth Ann Mendoza is a C.P.A. with The Waage Law Firm, A Professional Corporation, practicing in both the accounting and tax departments. Ms. Mendoza is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the states of California and Arizona.
Ms. Mendoza has over fifteen years of professional experience in public accounting, specializing in financial statement analysis, payroll tax reporting, sales tax reporting, QuickBooks Pro set-up, and tax preparation. During her career in taxation, Ms. Mendoza has acquired experience in corporate, partnership, individual and fiduciary taxation.
Ms. Mendoza graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. Ms. Mendoza prepared for and passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination.
Upon graduation from the University of Arizona, Ms. Mendoza worked in private industry for an entity that was comprised of a holding company and eight subsidiaries, and was responsible for preparation of all audit work paper detail, coordinating with the international public accounting firm of Arthur Anderson. She also prepared bank reconciliations for all of the entities, as well as preparation of combined financial statements.
After four and a half years in private industry, Ms. Mendoza moved into the public sector. Ms. Mendoza served corporate clients in a wide range of disciplines, including low income housing, physicians, dentists, landscaping, construction, franchises, attorneys, and veterinarians, to name a few. While in public accounting, Ms. Mendoza also participated in a number of recurring audit engagements in the financial industry.
This wide range of experience, coupled with an education in financial accounting, has provided Ms. Mendoza with a strong background in financial statement analysis, generally accepted accounting principles and standards, and tax preparation.
Ms. Mendoza was an accounting tutor during her tenure at Pima Community College and the University of Arizona, both located in Tucson. She received her certification in California and also has a reciprocal license in the state of Arizona.
Through various course studies and individual study, she continues to remain informed on current developments in tax legislation and accounting procedures.
As a part of The Waage Law Firm, A Professional Corporation, Ms. Mendoza is responsible for the preparation of corporate, partnership, payroll, fiduciary and individual tax returns. She has assisted business clients and high net worth individuals with the creation and maintenance of complex accounting systems and multi-state tax planning.
