The Tax Controversy Group provides legal representation to individuals, companies and tax professionals in defense of IRS, Franchise Tax Board and various other governmental taxing agency actions. The Tax Controversy Group is headed by Robert B. Martin, Jr., a 39 year veteran Tax Attorney who is a Certified Specialist in Taxation Law. Mr. Martin has successfully handled well over 1,000 tax cases at the federal and state level. The Tax Controversy Group is further comprised of seasoned tax professionals who are devoted to the causes and rights of taxpayers. Taxpayer cases are pursued in the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and at the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Through a unique approach known as “Strategic Integrated Planning,” a client’s legal, tax and investment objectives are integrated into a comprehensive set of strategies that reduce taxation, provide asset protection, create investment opportunities and preserve wealth.
