Scott A. Waage is the founder of the Strategic Law Firm, PC. Mr. Waage is a visionary tax attorney whose practice emphasizes taxation, business and corporate law, estates and trusts, retirement plans and real estate.
With over 18 years of hands on experience in planning and litigating tax matters, Mr. Waage brings a unique blend of skills and talent to the area of tax law. He is a noted speaker and renowned for his ability to convey complex tax and wealth preservation strategies in understandable usable ways.
Mr. Waage is licensed to practice in the state of California, the state of Washington, and Washington, D.C. He has appeared before State and federal courts as a litigator and an expert witness. He is licensed to practice before the United States District Court and the United States Tax Court. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar, the Washington Bar Association, and California Bar Association’s sections on Taxation, Estate and Corporate Tax Law.
As the originator of the concept of “Strategic Integrated Planning,” Mr. Waage specializes in bringing a comprehensive set of tax, legal and investment strategies to the firm’s clients. Mr. Waage’s unique approach of Strategic Integrated Planning blends law and tax, and blends planning and litigation to offer truly unique comprehensive wealth preservation plans to clients. Mr. Waage has devoted his entire practice to small business owners, real estate investors and family estates. He has planned for and fought for the rights of his clients to minimize their taxes, protect their families and preserve their wealth.
As a visionary tax planner, Mr. Waage has assisted clients with corporate tax matters, retirement plans, trusts and estates, asset protection and real estate investments. As a seasoned and tested tax litigator, Mr. Waage has defended clients’ rights against the overreaching and abuses of government agencies in state civil courts, U.S. District Courts, and the U.S. Tax Court. Mr. Waage has also qualified and served as an expert witness in both federal and state court in the areas of taxation, trusts and estate planning.
Mr. Waage graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa in 1989 with a dual major in Political Science and History. He received his Juris Doctor of Law from McGeorge School of Law, University of Pacific in Sacramento, California in 1993. While at McGeorge School of Law, Mr. Waage served on the Pacific Law Journal. He was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Writing & Research.
Mr. Waage’s professional experience outside the law profession includes service on the staff of the United States Senator Charles Grassley (Iowa), and service in the United States Army Reserve as a Commissioned officer. He has been an active member of business and professional groups throughout his career. He is an active member of his church.
